About Us

Thriving for nearly a decade at the corner of 35th and Kenyon in West Seattle, Locol Barley & Vine had been known as a cozy, hidden gem for our neighbors. A place to get a glass of wine or a pint of craft beer and sit by the fireplace and chat with the locals. The pandemic hit restaurants particularly hard, as we all know, and after a valiant effort to pivot to take and bake pizza during the height of the lockdown, it became clear in early 2022 that Barley & Vine needed to make some bigger changes if it was going to keep the doors open. In November 2022, Kevin Beardsley, April Savage and Ian Joyce became the new owners of The Locöl Kitchen & Bar. A minor name change, a new coat of paint, some good old fashioned elbow grease and an undeniable love of this local neighborhood haunt and the three friends were off and running.

The three friends agreed that not a whole lot needed to change. We asked the neighborhood and our loyal regulars what they wanted from The Locöl: good food, good service, the same good craft beer selection and wine they had grown to love done well by people who love The Locöl. Oh, and maybe add some PNW craft spirits and cocktails? It was a no-brainer.
